About

You’re living life, working, resting, moving forward, and yet your mind’s still racing. Overthinking the past, stressing about the future, worrying if you’re doing it right. I’ve been there all too much. What if it didn’t have to be that way?

I created this space because we all deserve peace, presence, and the space to grow. This site used to be called thegrowded. The name was intended to reflect a merging of growth and being grounded, and the idea that real change starts from stillness, not speed. Soon after I realised that my fire for life exists not just in small, mindful moments, but also for nature, the earth, and humanity’s beautiful creations. Thereafter, globeandgirl was born. The globe and my experiences.

The problem

For a long time, I wore worry like a heavy bag with items I might be lost without. I thought constantly replaying things in my head meant I was doing something productive. But it was like running toward a finish line I could never cross. I was too busy thinking about how I’d run in the past or fail in the future to actually focus on the run itself.

The solution

That’s when I started noticing what helped me come back to the moment, feel inspired, and visualise change. Travel first. My bouts of inspiration often came when strolling the lakes of Croatia’s national parks, or staring at the intricate details of art in the Blue Temple, Chang Rai. My excitement always mounts as I read blogs, research, and figure out timings or places to eat during the planning phase. There is something wonderfully healing about connecting to people, places, and history. I strongly believe it is connected to presence; being in awe, wonder, or simply immersed in a new experience takes us away from the shadow of the past, and the fear of what is held in the future.

Second. Cooking something slowly, tending to plants, spending quiet time outside, or reflecting with a warm drink. Those weren’t just hobbies; they were lifelines. The presence brought clarity, which brought growth. And often, small things, like a good pan, a notebook, a guided practice, a pair of gardening gloves, became the tools that anchored me there.

The last thing I want is to add another thing to your to-do list through the blogs I post here. Modern life already demands enough of us. But what if, instead of us trying to make more time, we simply chose to swap ten minutes of doom-scrolling for ten minutes for something that aligns us with what we really want from life. That tiny shift- not more effort, just more intention- can bring us back to feeling like we’re really here, really living.

The philosophy

With a background in psychology and years working in mental health, I understand how words like mindfulness or grounding often get overused or misunderstood. Over time I realised, it’s not just buzzy psychobabble. It’s about noticing with curiosity what’s here, right now. Whether that is during mundane tasks, our daily rituals or climbing up a mountain- noticing what inside and outside opens up our mental space for growth.

The mission

GlobeandGirl is where I share travel experiences and lifestyle tools. Itineraries and honest reviews of locations and restaurants so that you can plan for peace… all the way to grounding rituals or natural remedies that reconnect you to life. Living intentionally now, not then or later. My mission and hope is that you find something here that helps you come back to yourself too. It all comes back to the globe, me, and you!
